'Jalmitra' Vijay Kedia, is not a farmer by profession but Mechanical Engineer from BITS, Pilani.(1972-77) In the year 1996, he retired from his flourishing Industrial Construction business and started farming at Aurangabad (Maharashtra). In 1998 he faced water crisis in his farm & when both Underground & Aboveground sources failed, research started for Harvesting rainwater underground.
In year 2000, he invented Kedia Farm Pattern rainwater harvesting-known as KFP (Patented)- a Super express highway for rain from sky to underground, which harvests up to 80% rainwater in each ha land,( whereas presently 18% rainwater is harvested in India & more than 82% is lost)
KFP is an eco-friendly, low cost, SINGLE solution to unreliable monsoon, water crisis (depleting well-water, drying aquifers & farm water-logging) Soil erosion, Power crisis, Food crisis & Global warming. KFP (patented) provides water security for thirsty farm & drinking water for villages independent of erratic rains.
He has been promoting KFP, earlier socially & now also as a business. Vijay Kedia is the Managing Director of Kedia Rainwater Harvesting Pvt. Ltd. which is Authorized Implementer of KFP Rainwater Harvesting System (Patented) all over India.

- Technical Speaker of 'Mahatma Phule Jal Bhoomi Abhiyan' of Govt. of Maharashtra (2002)
- Committee Member of 'Water and Land Management Post-graduate Course Designing' by Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad in the year 2005.
- He has conducted more than 2000 workshop, lecture , seminar, exhibition & meetings all over India to spread awareness about Rain water Harvesting.
- KFP Workshop has been sanctioned by Govt. of Maharashtra dtd. 17.5. 2003.
