Sudeep JainAs an IAS Officer Sudeep Jain's expertise lies in providing strategic leadership in varied fields. He turned around the City Corporation of Tirunelveli in 1999-2000, designed and managed mega free rice and free lunch distribution projects in the drought hit Nagapattinam District in 2002, led a team to create a Guinness World Record in tree plantation at Nagapattinam in Dec 2002, increased profits of Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu as its Managing Director by 24 times in 2003-2004 while simultaneously working with real estate developers to create additional IT Office Space of 25 m sqft in Chennai and improving the ranking of Chennai as IT Destination from 6th to 2nd by 2005. As MD of Elcot he also won a National e-governance Award in making Elcot Paperless. In Jan 2005 he co-founded BITSunami - a Tsunami Rehabilitation Trust of BITS Pilani Alumni Association - which adopted two villages in Nagapattinam for a $1m Integrated Development Project. Bitsunami along with District Administration re-wrote the previous Guinness World Record in tree plantation (surpassing it by 3 times) in memory of the worldwide Tsunami victims. As District Collector of Dharmapuri in 2005 Sudeep was chosen to make a presentation on Good Governance to Prime Minister of India. In 2007 Sudeep led a team winning the $25k first prize in the prestigious UW's Business Plan Competition. In 2008 Sudeep turned around Tamil Nadu Industrial Explosives Ltd surpassing its highest ever productivity achieved 12 years back by 52%. In 2009 as head of Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu he challenged the budgetary planning process and increased the participation of students in Summer Sports Coaching Camps from 4500 to 93,000 without taking any extra funding from Government. In 2010 Sudeep is busy challenging the way entrepreneurship is taught through government programmes and is currently rolling out a new program in TN which could Government of India is evaluating to be a model for the country.
